Hampton Court is best known for Henry VIII's palace, its gardens and the famous maze, but it is also a busy crossing point on the Thames. Visiting Hampton Court Palace
The palace is run by Historic Royal Palaces and is open to visitors most days. Opening times and ticket details are on the palace's own website, so check before you travel. We can drop you close to the palace entrance and collect you at a time you choose. If you are visiting from abroad and staying in London, a car from your hotel avoids the change of trains on the way out.
Summer festivals and events
Each summer the palace hosts large events, including the RHS garden festival and outdoor concerts. Roads around Hampton Court Bridge and the palace become very busy, and closures or restricted areas are sometimes in place. On event days we recommend:
- Booking your car well in advance.
- Agreeing a clear pickup point away from the main crowds.
- Allowing extra time for the journey, especially after an evening concert.

Hampton Court station
Hampton Court station, by the bridge on the East Molesey side, is the end of the branch line from Waterloo. We meet trains here and take passengers on to homes and hotels nearby. Coming from central London late at night? A car from Waterloo brings you straight to your door.

Hampton Court Green and the riverside boats
Hampton Court Green, opposite the palace's main gate, is lined with historic houses and makes a useful meeting point away from the busiest traffic at the bridge. In the warmer months, passenger boats run between Hampton Court, Kingston and Richmond, and some visitors arrive by river and want a car for the return journey. If you are doing that, tell us which pier you will be at and roughly when, and we will agree a nearby pickup point. The roundabout by the bridge can be congested at weekends, so drivers may suggest waiting a short walk away where it is easier to stop. Allow a few extra minutes if you are catching a train or a flight afterwards.
