Not every taxi will take an animal, and finding out at the kerb with a dog on a lead is stressful for everyone. Our pet friendly taxi service in Thames Ditton removes the guesswork. You tell us about your pet when you book, and we send a driver and vehicle that are ready for them.

What to tell us when you book
A little information helps us send the right car:
- The type of animal and its size (for example, "one large Labrador" or "two cats in carriers").
- Whether the pet will be on a lead, in a crate or in a carrier.
- Any health needs, such as a dog recovering from surgery that needs a flat space.
- How many people and bags are travelling with you.
For bigger dogs, or a family travelling with a pet and luggage, an estate or our 6 seater taxi gives more space. We may use a seat cover or blanket to protect the car. You are welcome to bring your pet's own blanket too, which can help nervous animals settle.
Assistance dogs
Assistance dogs are different from pets. Under the Equality Act 2010, licensed private hire drivers must carry assistance dogs at no extra charge, unless they have a medical exemption certificate. You do not need to book a pet friendly car for an assistance dog, although it is still helpful to mention it so we can plan the vehicle space.
Keeping the journey calm
Cats usually travel best in a secure carrier on the seat or in the footwell. Dogs should be restrained with a harness or kept in a crate, as the Highway Code advises for animals in vehicles. Our drivers will help you settle your pet and drive smoothly, but for everyone's safety animals should not roam loose in the car.
Longer journeys with pets
We can take pets further afield, for example to a family home outside London or to a station for a train journey. If you are travelling by train from Paddington or Waterloo, check the train operator's pet policy. Airports have strict rules about animals, so please talk to your airline and pet shipping agent before booking a car for a pet travelling by air.

Can I bring my dog in the taxi?
Yes, as long as you tell us when you book. We will send a suitable vehicle. Please bring a lead, harness or crate.
Do cats need to be in a carrier?
Yes. For their safety and the driver's, cats should travel in a secure carrier.
Is there a charge for carrying assistance dogs?

Can you take my pet to an emergency vet at night?
Our office runs 24/7. Call us, tell us about your pet, and we will send the nearest suitable car we have available.
Can you fit a large dog crate?
Tell us the crate size when you book and we will send an estate or larger vehicle if needed.
